Legal framework
This policy applies to fred-mauger.com. It complies with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors located in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What this site does not do
This site sets no cookies and uses no audience measurement, advertising, tracking pixel or embedded social media button. Fonts, images and videos are hosted on the site itself: your browser does not contact any third-party service during your visit.
Data processed
Server logs: like any website, the hosting server automatically records the IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and operating system. This data is used only to run the site and protect it against abuse. It is kept for no more than 30 days, unless there is a security incident.
Display preferences: the language and theme (light or dark) you choose are stored in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to the server, and you can delete them at any time in your browser settings.
Contact: if you email or call, the information you provide (name, contact details, message) is used only to reply to you. It is kept for the duration of the exchange, then for no more than three years, unless the law requires longer retention.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Server logs: legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Contact: pre-contractual steps or legitimate interest in answering requests (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
Recipients and transfers
Data is neither sold nor shared. It is accessible only to the data controller and to the site's hosting provider, acting as a processor. Hosting is located in Switzerland or the European Union, both recognised as providing an adequate level of protection.
External links: the LinkedIn link opens LinkedIn's website, which applies its own privacy policy. No data is sent to LinkedIn unless you click that link.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, its correction, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and you can object to its processing. Write to fred-mauger@orange.fr; you will receive a reply within 30 days.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch) or, if you live in the European Union, with your country's data protection authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS only and uses security headers that restrict executable content to the site's own.
Changes
This policy may be updated. The version published on this page is authoritative.
